“its not there, but its there” – Media Response

October 7th, 2009

The web-world is talking about our new 3D feature and we are happy about your feedback. We’d like to mention some of the articles which have been published recently.

Bruce Sterling says “this oughta put a corkinto people who still think AR is some kind of bubble-gum card trick” in his review on wired. Ian Douglas is not sure about the visualisation of the WTC but he admits “It certainly is an extraordinary technical achievement.” Read his article on the telegraph.uk. Congratulations for our new feature also from Augmented Times Blog. He is sure “Yes, it’s very respectful, and I actually think that there should be such a virtual memorial.”  Augmented Times Blog referenced on Techcrunch UK.

  1. Konrad Roeder says:

I think it’s great. It can help visualize what was there at one time. You could use AR at many other locations… for example the Library at Alexandria, the complete Colesseum in Rome, the King Dome in Seattle, WA, Mount St. Helens in WA … etc.

Also, it can be used to visualize what is not there yet. For example, it could show the final product of a building that has not been built yet. …or it could help people visualize what it would look like if the polar ice caps melt … where would the water level be.
